| Mission | Capacity promotion for reproductive health and HIV/AIDS prevention among member associations and general public |
| Activities | The CFPA has included HIV/AIDS prevention as one of its strategies (1996-2010), and in 2003 released its “Action Plan for China Family Planning Association to Participate in the Prevention of AIDS”. CFPA reports to have nearly 1000 projects focusing on reproductive health and HIV/AIDS prevention nationwide, including: 1. Carrying out life-skill training and youth- friendly services in high school, universities and out of school adolescents, increasing access to and utilization of quality sexual and reproductive health services. 2. To carry out reproductive health and HIV/AIDS prevention trainings, health examination services and consultations etc. among rural areas in order to improve women’s reproductive health standard. 3. To spread propaganda and education related to reproductive health and HIV/AIDS prevention and free distribution of condoms among enterprises, construction places, market and border areas especially entertainment places. 4. To carry out HIV/AIDS prevention propaganda and education project among coach driver in order to lower risked sex and advocate the use of condom. 5. To carry out HIV/AIDS prevention education and outreach services among sex workers in entertainment places and promote the implementation of 100% CUP Project. 6. To carry out HIV/AIDS prevention education and use of condom behavior intervention project among MSM groups in Wuhan, Hubei Province and Lanzhou, Gansu Province in China. 7. Cooperate with Legal and prison departments to help released prisoners to protect themselves from HIV/AIDS, provide reproductive health services to them. 8. To help the people living with HIV/AIDS rebuild their confidence, give them support and care, and to advocate anti-discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS. 9. To advocate RH/FP and HIV/AIDS prevention among Muslim and other minority population by religious leaders in Ningxia, Gansu, Xinjiang, Qinghai in China. |
