Mission To ensure the safe and effective delivery of HIV/AIDS treatments throughout Asia and the Pacific
Activities TREAT Asia (Therapeutics Research, Education, and AIDS Training in Asia) is an itiative of AmFar, the American Foundation for AIDS Research. TREAT Asia consists of a loose network of clinics, hospitals, and research sites across Asia, and works together with civil society groups. The initiative’s stated goal is to “ensure the safe and effective delivery of HIV/AIDS treatments throughout Asia and the Pacific”. To achieve this goal, TREAT Asia is conducting research on appropriate treatment regimens, training healthcare workers, educating affected communities, and building regional collaboration and policy capacity.

In China, TREAT Asia has focused on improving patient treatment education in collaboration with national and county CDC offices, local and international NGOs, and PHA support groups. With the help of its partners in China, TREAT Asia has developed a program for low-literacy patient treatment education that includes participatory training workshops and an interactive toolkit.
